Third Annual Tuckerman Ravine Expedition Pictures

Major thanks to Bob Sagusti, Bob Walker, and John Vranich for photo contributions !!!!!!

Thanks to Greg Clark, C.T. Edwards, Laura Gabanski, Bob Sagusti, Brian Skrenta, Bob Walker, Mark Miller, Stuart Miller, Anne-Marie Shipley, Carl Cherwek, Kathi Durning, Tim, John Vranich, Brian Vogel, Barb Vogel, Kim Vogel, and the other John for participating in the expedition !!! Great job everyone !!!

NOTE 1: There are alot (about 100) pictures on this page... each image is a compressed JPEG between about 30 and 60 kbytes in size... if you have dial-up internet access it may take awhile for all the pictures to download and display... take a break and check back in 15 or 20 minutes

NOTE 2: The following pictures are roughly in chronological order... Since they were taken by various people who did various things at various times they are not strictly chronological but rather are grouped sortof thematically (i.e. - training hike first, then Pinkham Notch in the morning, hiking up the trail, entering the bowl, getting ready to ski, climbing up the ravine, looking down from high points, skiing down, hiking back down the trail, partying afterwords, the next day at Sunday River, and finally in the airport getting ready to leave NH)... Also since it was a massive job just to get these pictures scanned and loaded on to the website, I didn't spend any time trying to crop them or change the colors, etc... maybe someday I'll come back and improve some of them (computer image processing can do some amazing things) but not now

On with the show...

Starting the climb to "the top"... that's Laura taking on the bowl in the very center of the picture

"The Big Rock" is on the left... due to the "easy-climbin' stairstepped snow", it only took 5 or 10 minutes to climb that high this year (the previous 2 years it was more like 20 to 30 minutes)

Looking down from "The Big Rock"

Bob S. looks down "The Chute" before jumping in... Brian S. (second climber down) leans against the 45+% slope
